Surrounded by impressive mountain peaks and flowering Alpine meadows, our Fahrlechhütte sits right on the shores of Lake Duisitzkarsee. A place to arrive, take a deep breath and stay a little longer.
We serve the kind of food we love to eat ourselves: freshly cooked Alpine dishes made with products from our own farm. And on the side, a view you simply can’t get enough of.

We cook everything fresh: hearty, homemade and using ingredients from our own farm.
From traditional Alpine specialities to delicious Kaiserschmarren with wild blueberries, many of our dishes are prepared according to old family recipes. Vegan dishes are also available at our hut, and gluten-free preparation is possible too.

GETTING HERE & HIKING
HOW TO GET HERE
The starting point is the Eschachalm hiking portal in Obertal. From there, the hiking trail leads through the forest and across Alpine meadows up to Lake Duisitzkarsee.
According to the official route description, the direct ascent takes around 75 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the slightly longer forest road up to the hut. The complete route from Eschachalm covers approximately 5.4 kilometres and 480 metres of elevation gain.

STAY OVERNIGHT
WHEN THE MOUNTAINS GROW QUIET
In the evening, peace and quiet return to Lake Duisitzkarsee. The day visitors make their way back down into the valley, the light slowly disappears behind the peaks, and everything around the Fahrlechhütte becomes wonderfully still.
For a cosy night at our hut, we offer 16 simple sleeping places in our dormitory. And in the morning, something special awaits: fresh mountain air, an incredible view across the lake and that unique sense of tranquillity you only find in the mountains.

PLEASE NO DOGS
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the trail from Eschachalm to Lake Duisitzkarsee.
WATCH OUT FOR COWS!
Our animals graze on the Alpine pastures around the hut. Please stay on the trails, keep your distance and remain calm around them.
TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU
Please don’t leave any rubbish behind in nature – take it back down to the valley with you.
